“Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.” ~Barack Obama in his inauguration address

Change has come.  1.20.2009.  We had a little inauguration party today.  I took the morning off work, Max and I made cupcakes, Dan picked Grace up from school early, and we decorated the cupcakes all together.  Then we watched Barack Obama get sworn in and give his inaugural address.   We’re feeling his message “that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.”  It applies to anything and everything.  I hope we can teach our kids this value by how we live our lives.  Dan does it every day with how dedicated he is to his work.  We’re inspired.  We promised to take the kids to visit the White House while the Obamas are there.  (By the way, I loved little Sasha and Malia’s coats and dresses. And Sasha’s thumbs up was adorable.)  Our spirits are reaffirmed.
