Gratitude is the fairest blossom that springs from the soul. ~Henry Ward Beecher

It is high time that I use this place again to express my gratitude.  This has been a year of continued joy and wonder for our family while at the same time a deep, deep heartache has set in as we walk with my mom through her terminal illness.  There is a profound beauty in the time we have with her; it is sacred space.  I am immensely grateful for it.  At the same time my head may, finally, just pop off.

I promised myself to write down three things I am grateful for each day.  Here’s for yesterday:

My Dad and his gentle spirit

My Max and his gentle spirit jamming to a game on the iPad
