A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease. ~John Muir

I’m thankful for a summer thunderstorm tonight, right now.

Thankful for our friend who did surgery on this dear lovie after she barely survived Millie. And for the love Grace still has for this armadillo. And for Ellen who brought Army to Grace years and years ago and who lives on in our house through this little guy.

Before surgery; it was a thorough mauling:

After the handiwork of Miss Jen Ullery, who by the way has 4 kids of her own and I’m fairly certain had many things on her agenda today besides emergency lovie surgery; she does have quite the healing touch; I highly recommend her if you need any “work” done 😉

And thankful for these sunflowers bursting on our kitchen table this morning. Sunflowers get this Kansas girl every time.
